Following two previous successful events, Bournville College – a former sponsor of Birmingham Press Club - is to host another charity ball in aid of Tiny Babies Big Appeal.
The brainchild of Alma Aganovic (pictured), the College’s Student Services Director whose twins were looked after at the neonatal unit of Birmingham Women’s Hospital, the third event promises to be as successful as the previous two, both of which sold out within a few weeks of going on sale.
“My twin girls were looked after at the neonatal unit when they were born 12 weeks early and I wanted to do something to say thank you. Our fundraising efforts have so far bought heated twin cots and an ECG machine, which make a huge difference in the care of the sick and premature babies,” explained Alma.
The success of previous events is largely down to support of the staff and students at the College, who all give their time and commitment to ensure the fundraising for the hospital is maximised.
Students get involved in preparing and serving food, providing music entertainment, taking photos, selling raffle tickets and more. The support of the local community and businesses is also important and Alma is hoping for their generosity once again.
‘”We have been very fortunate in previous years with excellent support from local people who attendedthe event but also local companies who generously supported us by purchasing sponsorship packages or providing auction prizes. It would be amazing and very much appreciated if we could count on everyone’s support this time round again,”said Alma.
Eileen Rock, the fundraising manager at the Women’s Hospital, said:”We are extremely pleased to be working with Bournville College and look forward to another fantastic evening. The previous events were fabulous community events where so many individuals and businesses got involved. The funds raised will be used to provide vital medical equipment for our tiny patients.”
The fundraising event will take place on Friday 3rd March 2017 at Bournville College.
Tickets cost £30 per person and sponsorship packages start from as little as £100.
