The Press Club was established in 1865 after a group of journalists met at a city centre hotel and decided to form the Junior Pickwick Club, which, five years later, became known as Birmingham Press Club. The Club is the oldest in the world and today has more than 250 members, including online and print journalists, those working in television and radio, photographers and key figures from the corporate sector.
