Llewela Bailey has been involved in the Birmingham Press Club for two decades. She was made Chairman in July of 2016 - the first woman chair in a 150 years. Llewela has been a journalist for almost thirty-five years.
She began as a reporter for BBC local radio before moving over to television news in 1988 where she worked as a sub-editor, reporter and then main presenter on the ITV flagship programme 'Central News'.
Llewela has a wealth of experience in the broadcasting world and now uses it to train others. She retired from TV in 2008 and now has her own breakfast show on BBC WM. She is also a part-time lecturer in Journalism Law and Ethics at Staffordshire University.
Llewela lives in Birmingham and any spare time is spent with her four lovely children!
